​US-Iran Tensions and Oil Markets: Tensions in the Middle East have reached a new level after the US Navy seized the Iranian ship 'Tauska' in the Gulf of Oman. Iran has called the incident 'piracy' and threatened retaliation. As a result, the price of crude oil in the global market has increased by about 6.4% to $87.90 per barrel.


​Iran Rejects Talks: Tehran has refused to attend the previously scheduled peace talks with the US in Islamabad, Pakistan. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has described the US's behavior as 'diplomatic betrayal'.


​Israeli Military Position in Gaza: Recent satellite images show that Israel is building a permanent military base in Gaza.  This military expansion has raised concerns in the international community, as the US-backed reconstruction plan remains on hold.
